Dragon Boat Race to roar through waves for children’s hospice

DRAGON boats will roar through the waves once again this summer.

The colourful craft will feature in Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice’s regatta with a difference at Manvers Lake, which pitches teams of volunteers against each other in a contest to be named Dragon Boat Race champions.

This year’s event is from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, August 11, and will also feature giant inflatable zorb ball, live music, dancing Chinese dragons, fairground rides, inflatables, face painters, a licensed bar and stone-baked pizza truck.

Rachel Hodges, senior events fundraiser for Bluebell Wood, said: “This year's Dragon Boat Race is shaping up to be phenomenal.

“Every penny raised will help us offer even more of the services that make a difference to families, from music therapy and arts and crafts to counselling and end of life treatment and care.”
