Don't forget it's his day too!

WEDDINGS are as much about the groom as the bride and it is important to remember to include your partner in all the big decisions around the day.

Some grooms will want more involvement that others but make sure you talk about your ideas and agree on things like the venue, budget and guest list.

It's not all about the bride’s dress-the groom will want to look his best too along with his best man and ushers.

It's important to discuss suit styles, colours and patterns with each other and ultimately let the groom have the final say, keeping the overall theme and feel of the day in mind.

Things to think about:

Suits come in many different colours, fabrics and cuts - including tail coats, which will all feel very differently on and create very different looks.

If he is going for the traditional look, the groom will also need to choose a shirt style, collar, waistcoat, tie/cravat, cufflinks and pocket square, maybe even a top hat!!

Most formal wear shops have a wide range of suit styles to try on and fabric swatches to show the range of waist coats and cravats.

It's is advisable for the bride and groom, along with possibly the best man or a parent, to visit a few stores together to get an idea of prices and quality of garments.

If you are marrying abroad, the groom may want a lightweight suit or just a simple linen trouser and shirt ensemble.

If your wedding has a theme he may choose a kilt or patterned waistcoat to reflect the day.

Once you have narrowed down a few suppliers, book appointments to try on the suits.

Remember to ask the same questions as you would with the bride's dress as well as what the costs are for any damage that may occur while hiring the suit eg wine spillage, slight tear.
