MARKET SURGERY USER GROUP: For patients registered at the surgery. Meetings bi-monthly on Wednesdays 5.30pm. The group discuss developments and changes in the practice. Anyone wishing to attend can contact the practice manager 01709870150.

DEARNE VALLEY WALKING GROUP: The group offers a range of walks throughout the year. It provides a range of family walks. DVWG are looking for newcomers to the local family walks. Contact David Kirk 07904010347, [email protected].

MANVERS DOG JOG: 2-4 miles run/jog/walk. Meet at Manvers Waterfront on Sundays 8.30am or Mondays 5.30pm. Free, all dogs welcome.

TEAM MANVERS: Based at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club. A multi-sports club with the primary aim of promoting swim-bike-run activities for the community of the Dearne Valley and surrounding areas. The Boat Club has toilets/showers and changing facilities for members. There is a café on site and parking. Team Manvers is home of the Dusk Till Dawn and Big Swim events. Their Winter 5K Series will consist of 6 races with overall prizes for the fastest male/female along with prizes for the fastest male/female under 16s. Each race will start 9am, cost £2, open to members/non-members with spot prizes. Contact Team Manvers Facebook page and website. Group for new runners every Monday 6pm, with session for complete beginners or returners to running. WATHWOOD FARM SHOP AND COURTYARD CAFE: In grounds of Wathwood Hospital, sells fresh fruit and vegetables, plants and flowers, hand-crafted gifts and jams, pickles and chutneys. Opening times Saturdays/Sundays 9am-3pm. The Courtyard Café serves a menu prepared by patients and staff as part of an initiative to break down barriers and stigmas associated with mental health. Everyone welcome, along with dogs too.

PATCHWORK QUILTING: Every Wednesday in Wath Library 9.30am-12.30pm. Free.

CHARITY EVENT: to be held at Dunholm Club on Carr Road in Wath on May 16 in aid of Prostrate Cancer UK and Sheffield's Hospital Charity. The event will be from 11 am and there will be lots going on during the day - stalls, raffles and a bouncy castle. Anyone who is able to donate a raffle prize please get in touch, if anyone would like to book a stall, the cost is £10. DEARNE VALLEY RAMBLERS: On Sunday, March 1, starting at 10 am there will be an easy 8.5 miles circular walk around the village of Methley, Leeds taking in RSPB St. Aidan’s nature reserve and the canal area. Please bring Binoculars. Meet at the free car park opposite the derelict fuel depot at the bottom of Fleet Lane, Woodlesford. Post Code LS26 8AE. All are welcome on walks. WATH WOMEN'S INSTITUTE: Members meet on the third Wednesday of the month in St James Hall, Wath at 7.30 pm. The group enjoy caried speakers, social evenings, trips and crafts.
