MARQUIS BOWLING CLUB: Meet 2/3 times a year in pavilion behind the Marquis pub, Low Stubbin, Rawmarsh S62 7RX. Full membership £50/year, which includes full use of the pavilion facilities and taking part in competitions. PINS AND NEEDLES: Meet in Brampton Church every Monday 3.30pm. Girls and boys learn to knit and crochet. No charge, turn up with parent/guardian/carer.

FRIENDS OF BRAMPTON GRAVEYARD: Volunteers who meet Wednesdays 10am at Christchurch Graveyard on Melton High Street to care for the graveyard. Contact John 01709877384.

CORTONWOOD MINERS AND COMMUNITY WELFARE TRUST:  The charity lets out office space to help pay for running costs. There are tenants 'up sizing' which will create some free space to let. Anyone interested can get in touch using the following email address    [email protected]

CHRIST CHURCH BRAMPTON BIERLOW: on Saturday, February 15 between 3 and 5 pm there will be a Messy Church at Brampton Parish Hall, Knollbeck Lane and on Sunday, February 16 at 10 am there will be Holy Communion.

BRAMPTON THE ELLIS C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL: This week held their E Safety Day for all pupils. School closes today, Friday, February 14 for half term and re-opens on Monday, February 24. On Monday February 24 Key Stage 1 and 2 parents evening will be held between 4-6pm and on Tuesday, February 25 there will be the Y4 Pancake Dance - all day. Children in year 5 will be visiting The National Space Centre on Tuesday, February 25 as part of their studies.

BRAMPTON CORTONWOOD INFANTS SCHOOL: School closes today at 3pm for half term and will re-open on Monday, February 24.

RSPB OLD MOOR: Car park refurbishment works are taking place over January and February, as well as the installation of a wild play in the discovery zone. It may be a little muddy in the short term. Car parking will be available during this time but on a limited capacity.
