Understated nude, champagne and ivory colours ring the changes on the traditional theme while remaining cool and elegant.

Sales assistants will be able to show you some examples of the different tones and remember that dresses come in different shades too so don’t be put off by a champagne gown that may also come in ivory.

If you are not sure what hue to go for, it is worth trying on a range of colours to see what best suits your skin tone and hair colour.

Also think about whether or not you will have a tan on the day. Are you planning to have a spray tan or are you going on holiday in the run up to the big day?

Olive-skinned brides will obviously look better in certain colours than fair skinned brides, which is why it is important to shop around.

It’s wise to think about your colour scheme too as nude bridesmaid dresses may look dirty next to a bright white wedding gown.

Remember to work out what you want first and let all the other details follow. If possible get a sample swatch to use for your accessories and shoes.
