Classic films including Batman Returns to be shown in Devil’s Arse cave

CLASSIC films including Batman Returns and Jurassic Park will be screened in a pop-up cinema inside a cave.

The Village Screen is returning to the Peak Cavern, known as the Devil’s Arse, in Castleton for two back-to-back weekends of film screeings.

The Lost Boys, The Descent, Batman Returns and Raiders of the Lost Ark will be shown in The Peak Cavern — which is said to be one of the UK’s best show caves between June 2-9.

Alongside the screenings, The Village Screen will be turning an area of the car park at the Peak Cavern into a street food haven, with live music and a bar before each screening. There will also be a fully-stocked bar inside the cave.

This is Village Screen’s third year at the Peak Cavern, which audiences have described as a “truly amazing experience” with a “phenomenal” atmosphere.

The screenings are as follows;

  • Jurassic Park (Sunday, June 2. Suitable for all ages).
  • The Lost Boys (Thursday, June 6. Age 16 plus), 
  • The Descent (Friday, June 7. Sutiable for 18 plus), 
  • Batman Returns (Saturday, June 8. Age 16 plus) 
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark (Sunday, June 9. Suitable for all ages). 

Cave doors open at 6.45pm for Saturday and Sunday screenings and 7pm for all others.
