Charity legend Tommy Joyce organises Dearne walk
FUND-RAISING legend Tommy Joyce is inviting nature lovers to join him this weekend on the first of a series of guided walks.
The first Walking with Tommy outing will nvolve a walk of between two and three miles and take place on Sunday (22) at 9am, starting at the former Maple Road School entrance.
Tommy, who was awarded the MBE for raising more than £200,000 through charity marathons, is keen to make the walks a regular fixture in the calendar.
More walks will be arranged if the first walk proves popular.
He also plans to run a charity marathon at Mexborough’s Tesco store on the day it closes next month.
