TALENTED youngsters are being sought to star in an upcoming production of a much-loved romantic comedy.
Eighties-inspired The Wedding Singer — The Musical Comedy is based on the popular film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
Yorkshire Performance Preparation Academy (YPPA) will be bringing their vibrant and heart-felt version to the Rotherham Civic between June 3 to 6 — and auditions are still open.
Creative director Danyl Turvey said: “We have a few places left for young people aged 12 to 25, both male and female, but we particularly need male performers.
“We also really need a couple of young people who excel in dance.”
The Wedding Singer tells the story of New Jersey’s best wedding singer, Robbie Hart.
“He’s the life of the party until his fiancé jilts him at his own wedding.
Broken-hearted, Robbie struggles to continue his career until he meets a young waitress, Julia — the only trouble is that she is about to be married.
Can Robbie pull off the performance of a decade and get the girl of his dreams before she’s gone forever?
The show is packed with high energy dance routines and big vocal performances.
Danyl added: “Rehearsals are going fantastically, and it promises to be another outstanding performance by YPPA.
“We invest energy, hard work and passion into our annual musicals and they are always really well received by audiences, with one reviewer last year saying that our production was one of the best shows they had seen at the Civic.”
