Call for creatives to join Rotherham Creative Network's monthly meet-ups

ARTISTS, musicians, poets and other creative types are gathering monthly to share their work and inspire each other.

The first official monthly meeting of Rotherham Creative Network was held last month at Hygge in High Street and another gathering is planned for next week, where more members will be able to “show and tell” their creations.

Artist Vicky Hilton, who is coordinating the group, said: “It was a huge success and just shows the need for this kind of event within our town.

“Rotherham Creative Network was founded in 2017 by Artful Make It Happen and local creatives.

“The aims of the group are to give Rotherham creatives a voice and platform within the sector both locally and regionally.

“The group works mainly through facebook and Instagram but organisers have now decided to bring the network to life by hosting monthly meet-ups.”

The meetings will draw creative people together to showcase their work, develop connections and share skills and knowledge, as well as promoting collaboration and co-production.

Each event will see three members giveinga talk and a projected presentation for up to seven.

Vicky added: “Think of a ‘show and tell’ at primary school but for creative adults.

“The events include a programme of live music, poetry and arty happenings.”

The next monthly meet-up will be held from 5pm next Wednesday, February 26, at the ROAR Artspace, Westgate Chambers on Westgate in Rotherham Visit the Rotherham Creative Network - Monthly Meet Up page for more information.
