Bucketload of laughs won in Advertiser comedy festival competition

TWO lucky comedy fans will be enjoying a bucketload of laughs on us after winning our Rotherham Comedy Festival competition.

Dorothy Crutchley of Stag has won a golden ticket entitling her and a guest free entry to every event at the festival, which begins tonight.

The festival is bringing more than 20 acts to a variety of town centre venues, with Live at the Apollo star Joe Lycett topping an impressive list of acts.

The Civic, The Trades, The Cutlers Arms, The Bridge Inn, Bluecoat and the New York Tavern will all put on comedy evenings during the five-day festival from tomorrow until Sunday, April 2.

Acts include Cosmopolitan, Guardian and Have I Got News For You? writer Kate Smurthwaite, Rotherham comedian and impressionist Steff Todd and the intriguingly-named Scottish Falsetto Socks.
