Bird lovers can test binoculars and 'scopes at Manvers reserve event

BIRD watchers can test out top binoculars and telescopes for free at a special nature reserve event.

The RSPB is holding a Binocular and Telescope Open Weekend at its Old Moor nature reserve in Manvers next month.

A range of binoculars and telescopes will be on display for visitors to try out, with free advice available from staff and volunteers.

Money raised will help the RSPB continue its conservation work.

Danielle Meyer, visitor experience manager at Old Moor, said: “Our popular drop-in Binocular and Telescope Open Weekends take place across many of our RSPB sites. They’re fun, friendly and interactive events designed to help you select the very best kit for your needs.

“Instead of trying out the equipment in a store where you may not spot anything of interest, testing the kit out surrounded by natural sights and sounds on our reserve really helps people identify the best investment for their needs.”

The event will take place on August 4 and 5, and is free to attend.
