Bad singers have more fun! Join Rotherham's tuneless choir

Tuneless Choirs are for people who love to sing but lack confidence and ability. They sing a mixture of popular songs from throughout the decades, without caring if all the right notes are in the right order. There are no parts, no judgement and no pressure to improve.

Choir leader and manager Becky Power said: “After staying home so long, this will be a great way of getting back to normal, meeting new people and having fun all at the same time, I can’t wait to welcome in old and new faces.

“I also have extra fire in my belly for this choir after watching, `I Can See Your Voice’ on BBC One, that show makes it obvious that bad singers have more fun.”

Singing has health and mental health benefits and Becky hopes this will help Rotherham folk return back to pre-Covid life. 

The choir meets every Monday at Whiston Parish Hall from 7.15pm to 9pm to sing popular and uplifting songs.

The choir relaunched on Monday (17) after only meeting for two sessions before lockdown restrictions were enforced.

Due to capacity rules, places will be restricted and tickets are now on sale at www.tunelesschoir/rotherham.
