Astronomers reach for the stars in new exhibition

AN EXHIBITION at Clifton Park Museum is celebrating the out-of-this-world work of amateur astronomers in Rotherham.

Solar System and Beyond contains models of objects discovered by Peter Jalowiczor, who has discovered exoplanets and brown dwarfs from his Masbrough home.

The display — being exhibited for at least six months — is completed by the telescope and books of museum collections and exhibitions officer Karl Noble, another amateur astronomer.

Peter said: “The museum initially got in touch with me about doing a display about Rotherham’s Second World War veterans. When I mentioned my interest in astronomy, we ended up developing this one first.”

Peter’s interest in astronomy has seen him work with Nasa, who invited him to speak at an international conference a year ago.
