Antarctic Monkeys rocking Mexborough for MIND

MEXBOROUGH will be rocking out this weekend as a host of bands play for a good cause.

MINDfest, a day-long festival of indie, metal, punk and rock music, will take over the town’s Imperial Club on Saturday.

After an official opening by the Mayor of Doncaster, Cllr George Derx, the guitars will come out to raise cash for mental health charity MIND.

David Scott, from Roman Terrace, Mexborough, has teamed up with friends Jamie Woodcock, Ellen Taylor, Chris Waddington and Adam Taylor to organise the event, having already raised more than £2,500 for MIND with a charity coffee morning, a sponsored walk and a sponsored cycle.

Entry to Saturday’s event is open until 9pm to children aged over 14 when accompanied by an adult and for over-16s only after 9pm.
