Anniversary reunion for Stafford Galli at Conisbrough Music Fest

MUCH-loved Doncaster band Stafford Galli will reform after seven years this summer for a one-off-appearance at Conisbrough Music Fest.

The band will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album Phrygian Knights by playing the LP in its entirety at the open-air festival on July 6.

In their time, the band had sell out shows at the Doncaster Civic Theatre and the Doncaster Dome and supported the likes of Boney M, Saxon, Wilko Johnson, Edwin Starr and The Waterboys.

Their sound blends folk, rock and Irish folk music.

Lead singer and songwriter Martin Ferguson said he was keen to reunite all the band’s surviving members for the gig.

“We knew a special anniversary was approaching for Phrygian Knights and when we were approached by Conisbrough Music Fest, I wanted to get the original band back together to do it.

“Luckily they've all said yes and we're now in the studio putting it all together.”

To mark the milestone, Phrygian Knights has been re-released on all major streaming and download sites.
