Angels will bring peace to Rotherham library

A BAND of angels will be offering town centre visitors and council workers the chance to join them for a moment of peace next week.

A group of volunteers from the Festival of Angels project will be transforming into celestial beings for a session of meditation at Rotherham’s Riverside Libary next Thursday and Friday.

Tracey Wright from Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance, who will be donning an angel costume and being made up to look heavenly, said: “We will be holding a meditation session for members of the public and library users.

“There are people from several groups linked to the Love is Louder organisation and the Angels project and we will be inviting everyone to join us for a mindful minute.”

    The “angels” will be at the library from 10am to 7pm on Thursday and 10am to 5pm on Friday.

    Tracey said this was the final event for the Festival of Angels project, which has been running since the autumn and involved angel-making workshops and a service at Rotherham Minster just before Christmas.

    “Everyone that has participated has said how much they have enjoyed it and how they would like to be involved again,” she added.
