American Legends an “amazing” occasion

MUSIC fans sang along and danced to hits from Frank Sinatra and Doris Day at the Advertiser’s latest retro party.

Following a festive meal at the Holiday Inn Rotherham, James Mcallister opened the entertainment for the American Legends event as Frank Sinatra, with White Christmas, and had everyone singing and dancing along to classics as My Way, Fly Me to the Moon and New York, New York.

Lorrie Brown performed a tribute to Doris Day and Gary Birtles put on his blue suede shoes to become Elvis.

Event organiser Kim Ollivent said: “It was an amazing atmosphere throughout the afternoon, with everyone singing and dancing from the start of the show and leaving in great spirits.

“It was lovely to see everyone having such a great time again after the last 18 months and I can't wait do run more of these events in 2022, so keep an eye out in the Advertiser for more tribute events.”
