Donald will be playing Daddy Warbucks in Wickersley Musical Theatre Company’s musical production of Annie Warbucks at the Rotherham Civic Theatre and sacrificed his full head of hair to become the image of the character plated by the late Albert Finney in the original Hollywood film Annie.

WMTC’s Alison Fenwick said: “Donald, who audiences may remember as Father Christmas in Miracle on 34th Street, also had to shave his full beard off for this production, such is his dedication to the authenticity of the character.

“Barber for the day was Jess Fenwick, who plays the part of Mrs Kelly.”

Another key piece of casting was completed with the recruitment of three prize pooches to take on the part of pawsome family companion Sandy in the five-night run from next Tuesday to Saturday.
