Rotherham Titans dig in to clinch late, late victory

ROTHERHAM Titans scored a converted try deep into stoppage time to clinch the most dramatic of wins over Birmingham Moseley in the gloom at Clifton Lane.

Trailing by six points with 94 minutes showing on the clock, Titans had one last push that brought a try for Zac Poole before centre Ellis Abrahams showed nerves of steel to land the conversion for a 21-20 victory.

The teams ended an error-strewn first half tied at 7-7, with skipper Seb Nagle-Taylor’s try cancelled out by a touchdown for Moseley hooker Ryan Roach.

He crossed the whitewash twice more in the second half to complete a hat-trick, all from lineout catch and drives, while scrum-half Connor Dever went over for Rotherham who were well short of their best on the day .

A conversion and a penalty from Jamie Williams helped give lowly Moseley the advantage going into stoppage time before the nail-biting finish.

It was all too close for comfort but nevertheless a sixth win in seven for the Titans in National One and testament to their never-say-die spirit.
