FORMER International Kevin Maggs has kicked off his coaching career at Rotherham Titans - but head coach Craig West says he won't drop straight into playing action.
Maggs, who spent an influential two months at Titans last season, has returned to the club - and rugby - with his daughter Jessica on the road to recovery after suffering from leukaemia. Maggs had opted out of the game to spend time with the four year old.
But after talks with West, he's now back and helping with coaching following last week's departure of John Stankevitch to Rochdale Hornets RL.
Said West: "We're delighted he's back, but I doubt if Kevin will go straight into the first team. He'll need time to settle, but he will figure sooner or later."
Rotherham travel to Moseley on Saturday, following last week's morale-boosting 29-20 victory over Cornish Pirates.
