Toby Carvery staff robbed at gunpoint

POLICE are hunting three men armed with shotguns and a handgun who robbed pub staff in a car park, before riding off on motorbikes.

The bandits struck staff outside the Toby Carvery on Mushroom Roundabout, East Dene, at around 11.20pm yesterday.

The men approached and threatened staff as they waited outside the pub, taking cash and personal items.

A message on the pub's website says the venue is closed "due to unforeseen circumstances" and "until further notice".

It directs diners to other branches at Parkhead, Bessacarr and Dodworth Valley.

Det Insp Paul Wilson said: “This was an extremely aggressive incident which has left staff extremely frightened and distressed.

“Specialist officers are supporting the victims and an investigation is underway to find those responsible.”

The men are described as wearing motorbike jackets, motorbike gloves and helmets over balaclavas.

One of the men was wearing Adidas trainers and one was described as being around 5ft 11in.

All three spoke with a Rotherham or Sheffield accent and left the scene on motorbikes.

Officers urge anyone who with relevant information to call 101, quoting incident 54 of March 7.
