POLICE searched scrubland for dangerous weapons as part of an operation aimed at tackling knife crime.
Officers scoured land in Eastwood which has been a hotspot for youths committing anti-social behaviour, a police spokesperson said.
They searched for any weapons which might have been stashed away in undergrowth or discarded but did not find anything during their search last Wednesday (17) afternoon.
The search was among a number of activities carried out last week in South Yorkshire as part of Operation Sceptre, which was aimed at disrupting criminal activity and knife crime.
Officers also raised awareness of knife crime and the impact it can have on families and the wider community through community engagement.
