Curfew order for Rawmarsh man (46) who stabbed housemate with kitchen knife

A MAN who stabbed his housemate in the chest with a kitchen knife has been given a curfew order by a judge.

Mark Gascoyne (46, pictured) left one of his victims with a stab wound to the left side of his chest and cuts and bruises to his head following the attack at the home they shared on January 9.

He attacked another housemate in the same incident, leaving him withswelling to his face and body.

Gascoyne, formerly of Whybourne Grove, Rotherham, but now of Whitfield Road, Rawmarsh, is reported to have assaulted his housemates, aged 48 and 53, following an argument. 

He threw one to the ground, kicked him in the head and stabbed him, then punched the other victim in his face and body.

The victims were taken to hospital for treatment. 

Gascoyne admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm when he appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday.

He was sentenced to a six-month community order and a six-month curfew order covering the hours from 8pm to 7am.
