A DOG owner whose out-of-control pet injured a child has been given a suspended prison sentence — and his animal will be put down.
Luke Mangham (32), of Church Road, Edlington, admitted at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court last Friday to being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog which injured a child at a property in West Melton.
His American Bulldog, Trappo, who attacked the child in April last year, will be destroyed unless an appeal is lodged within 21 days.
The Bench gave Mangham a suspended prison sentence because he failed to take control of his dog or notice the risk it had posed.
Mangham was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for a year, and was ordered to pay £85 costs.
