Who is your Rotherham NHS hero?

DO YOU you know an unsung NHS hero?

There’s still time to nominate the health worker you think pulls out all the stops to deliver first class service to Rotherham patients for the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s PROUD Awards.

And winning a Rotherham Proud Award could be the first step to greater recognition if the experience of heart failure specialist nurse Sarah Briggs (pictured left with hospital chief executive Louise Barnett) is anything to go by.

She has now gone on to receive national recognition, having been awarded the Rising Star title at the British Heart Foundation’s annual conference for the work she has done in supporting patients using technology to reduce hospital admissions and increase confidence in those with heart conditions .

Her unnamed nominator told how she “works tirelessly above and beyond her role expectations to address patient need and provide excellent quality of care” and regularly comes up with new ideas and innovations, including a new project using technology to help monitor heart health.

A hospital trust spokeswoman said: “We need you help to identify another exceptional NHS worker like Sarah.

“Nominations are accepted from patients and members of the public for the Public Recognition Award and it provides a great opportunity to highlight, recognise and thank exceptional individuals and teams who have made a really positive contribution to delivering high quality care.”
