Seamus rewarded for Rotherham rescue

YOUNG action man Seamus Buckley has been handed a top police bravery award for saving a little girl in a runaway car.

Seamus (14) pulled the youngster from her mum's car just before it rolled in front of traffic in August.

Then he went back to the car to put on the handbrake.

He was given the District Commander's Commendation at St Bernard's High School, Rotherham, where he is a pupil, by Chief Supt Jason Harwin.

Seamus, of Hounsfield Road, Herringthorpe, has also been promised a visit to see South Yorkshire Police’s firearms, dogs, road traffic  and helicopter team.
