Traffic calming going too far

Am I the only person to have noticed what the Council and the Passenger Transport Executive are up to with regard to traffic calming?

It seems they are very determined to bring the road network to a standstill by using buses to restrict the flow of traffic. The latest in a long list of actions targeting the motorist is on Main Street in Catcliffe where they have positioned a pedestrian refuge right next to the bus stop, which is already on the blind brow of a hill.

When a bus stops here it will prevent any flow of traffic in the direction of Brinsworth. Next time you're stuck behind a bus at a bus stop, have a look at where it has been positioned and ask yourself why.

Better still, ask the Council and the Passenger Transport Executive.

Derek Taylor, Scammadine Close, Brinsworth.
