Cooker fire caused by sleeping woman
A SLEEPING homeowner got a scary awakening after falling asleep with food in the oven and the cooker on.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was alerted to the fire in the cooker when the smoke alarm went off.
She awoke to find the property on Sycamore Avenue in Bramley full of smoke.
A spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said a crew from Rotherham and Maltby attended the incident on Monday (3) evening around 8pm.
