Schools aiming to forge stronger links

FOUR schools are proposing to take foundation status and link up as the Wath Learning Community Co-operative Trust.

West Melton Primary, Brampton Cortonwood Infants, Wath Central Primary and Wath Comprehensive have started a consultation process.

The tie-up will formalise work already done by Wath Learning Community, a collaboration of ten schools in the area.

Jacqueline Oliver, from WLC, said: “The move will bring significant benefits to children.

“The co-operative trust model will affirm the already tight links that exist between the schools based upon a mutually co-operative set of values and principles.

“The proposed trust will consider long-term partnerships with other educational establishments and organisations it feels will fit well within its cause.”

Parents are being told of the proposal in letters. Wath Comprehensive will host a public meeting on March 12 at 6pm.

The proposed implementation date is September.
