Policeman battered in Rotherham pub bust-up
A POLICE officer suffered head injuries when he was attacked as he responded to reports of a brawl at a town centre pub.
The 34-year-old was the first officer on the scene of a disturbance outside the Mailcoach Inn, on Wellgate, at around 7.25pm last night.
Information issued by the attending South Yorkshire Police helicopter team during the incident stated that the officer received deep cuts to the head and was taken to hospital as other officers arrived.
Three arrests were made and the officer was released from hospital after treatment.
