Festive lift for Millers

ROTHERHAM United could be set for a sell-out crowd at the New York Stadium on Boxing Day after high demand for tickets.

The Millers host Port Vale next Wednesday, with Accrington Stanley to follow in the second home festive fixture next Saturday, and the message is to get tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Head of supporter services, Graham Jamson, said: "If tickets continue to sell at the current rate then I'd expect us to be sold out by the weekend. It's pleasing to see how close we are to this fixture being a sell-out and we're urging anybody who is thinking of just coming down on Boxing Day to get their tickets beforehand so they aren't left disappointed.

"We understand that it's not always possible to come down during regular opening hours and as a result we're continuing with our late-night opening on Thursday as we have done throughout December."

The ticket office and Red and White Shop will be open until 7pm on Thursday and on Saturday between 10am-4pm. There is also an online service which continues to be popular.

The Millers, meanwhile, play their rearranged FA Cup second round replay at Notts County tonight (7.45pm).

The winners will be away to Aldershot in the third round on January 5.
