I won't be Sheffield's mayor, says John Healey
JOHN Healey has ruled himself out of the running for the role of Mayor of Sheffield.
Political bloggers suggested today that the Wentworth and Dearne MP was considering putting himself forward as a possible Labour candidate if the city voted to have an elected Mayor.
But Mr Healey was quick to quash the rumours, insisting: “For the record, and for the rumours, I am totally not interested in being Sheffield Mayor—you can quote me on that now and forever.
“Sheffield won’t want a mayor and it’s the last thing I’d want.”
