Man stabbed in takeaway

A MAN who was stabbed in a takeaway is believed to have known his alleged attacker, police said.

The 35-year-old man suffered a stab wound after an incident behind a takeaway on Leadley Street in the Goldthorpe last Wednesday at 3.30pm.

A 29-year-old man from the Doncaster area  was arrested later the same day on suspicion of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was bailed pending further enquiries.

A police spokeswoman said: “The two men involved in the incident are believed to be known to each other and enquires are ongoing.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 and quoting incident number 659 of August 19.
