Jordan Bowery departs Millers

STRIKER Jordan Bowery - who was a record Rotherham United signing in the summer of 2014 - has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The 24-year-old former Chesterfield forward joined the Millers from Premier League side Aston Villa for what was thought to be a significant six figure sum.

Bowery made 12 starts during his spell in South Yorkshire in all competitions, netting five times.

Most of his appearances in a red shirt came from the substitutes’ bench (32) and he spent an earlier part of the season on loan at League One side Bradford City, where he made three appearances without scoring.

The club confirmed Bowery’s departure on Twitter.

A tweet from the Millers’ official account said: “Everyone at #rufc would like to thank Jordan for his efforts whilst with the club. We wish him well for the future.”
