Motorists face delays as Crinoline House faces final curtain

CENTENARY Way will be shut for almost 36 hours this weekend as one of the town centre’s most recognisable landmarks comes crashing down.

Crinoline House will be pulled down after more than 30 years of overlooking Centenary Way while housing the borough council’s social services department.

Motorists travelling through Rotherham have warned that Centenary Way will be closed while the work takes place.

Contractors have been stripping out fittings and fixtures from the seven-storey building on Effingham Street since January in preparation for the demolition.
