Efit released following vehicle arson attacks

POLICE investigating a spate of vehicle arson attacks in a village over the last month have released an efit image of a man.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said officers urgently want to trace the man as he could provide further information into the four arson attacks in Rawmarsh.

Sergeant John Morris said: “We are treating the arsons as a priority and we are determined to find those responsible.

“The first incident was on May 26 on George Place at around 2.25pm where a black Peugeot was set alight.

“On June 1 the second incident was reported at around 2.10am on Brameld Road. A silver Vauxhall Zafira was attacked and set on fire.

“On June 5 and June 12, there were two further incidents on Brameld Road.

“The first incident was at around 2.40am, a grey Nissan Quashqui was set alight and the last attack was reported at around 1.55am when a white Peugeot van was set on fire.”
