Becchio could still play a part

LUCIANO Becchio could still have a part to play for Rotherham United before the season is up.

LUCIANO Becchio could still have a part to play for the Millers before the season is up.

The experienced striker has been dogged by injury since rejoining the club for a second spell earlier this year and hasn't featured since the end of January.

Becchio is still a long way down the queue to get back into the side. A bout of illness this week hasn't helped his cause and while manager Neil Warnock can't promise him game time at the moment, he is glad he is inching his way back.

Speaking in the run-up to today's clash with Leeds, he said: “Becchio is back in training but he had a couple of days off with sickness this week. I can't see how he would get in the side at the moment because I don't want to change much but he has been training ever so well, I've been pleased with him.

“We could have done with him a fortnight ago at Ipswich but he just wasn't ready.”
