Daniel Nardiello profited from a spill by goalkeeper Jordan Archer to put the injury-hit Millers ahead inside the first 20 seconds but a glancing header from Wycombe skipper Dave Winfield levelled the scores on the half-hour mark.

Mark Bradley ended a sticky spell for the home side with a stunning first-time volley from Ben Pringle’s corner six minutes later to make it 2-1 but they were unable to push on in the second period.

Matt McClure struck on 50 and 55 minutes to give the visitors a surprise win and an injury to defender Josh Morris meant Steve Evans’ side had to play out the remaining stages with ten men having used all their substitutes.
