New centre aims to help elderly's carers
Terrace Gardens has been set up by not-for-profit company Doncaster West Development Trust (DWDT) and will share the organisation’s converted house in Conisbrough.
The centre will offer meals, computer facilities, a lounge and garden to elderly residents to allow some respite time for their carers, costing £45 a day.

DWDT project manager Phil Hayes said: “We carried out a great deal of research into this project and found there was a clear need locally to provide a more extensive service to support older people and their carers very practically.
“The result is a facility that people can visit for a few hours or all day and choose how to spend their time."
DWDT was founded in 1993 as a social enterprise, working with people to develop regeneration projects.
