Man seriously injured in crash

A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Brinsworth on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters freed him and the other driver after the collision between a black Volkswagen Polo and a white Ford Transit van on Bawtry Road.

The 22-year-old Polo driver, from Barnsley, suffered serious injuries. The 27-year-old Transit driver suffered minor injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened near the Brinsworth Grange junction shortly after 6.30am.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 quoting incident 109 of January 19.
