Titans sign new pack man

TITANS have signed another prospect for the future, 21 year old pack man Josh Redfern.

Redfern can play either in the second or back row and is currently playing  at  Sheffield Tigers, having previously appeared for Ashbourne and Derby and at 6' 4” and 117kg he's sure to bring a degree of physically to the Titans set-up. Josh has also achieved Under 20s honours with Yorkshire, North England and England Counties.

Josh is no stranger to the club as he's been training with the Titans for the last three months and has previously worked under Titans head coach Lee Blackett at Sheffield Hallam University.

Commenting on Redfern's arrival Lee Blackett explained, "Josh is a big lad with a lot of natural talent who's a very good ball carrier. He's someone I've worked with for the last three years at Hallam University. He's been playing his rugby at Tigers and he's been one of their outstanding performers on a regular basis throughout the season.

"There's no doubt that his biggest attribute is his ball-carrying abilities and he's very versatile as he can play in the second row and back row. At this moment in time I'd say his best position is either 6 or 8, but he has the capabilities of playing in the second row.

"Like all young players he's got some work-ons and it's going to be a big development year for him next season. But he's a very committed player and I expect him to make the improvements necessary to compete at this level.”
