Millers ladies raise their sights

ROTHERHAM United Ladies are hoping to benefit from the success of the men's team.

The women have recruited experienced coach Scott Duncanson from Women's Super League outfit Doncaster Rovers Belles in readiness for a fresh drive next term in the Midlands Combination League.

And in the wake of Rotherham United's promotion to League One, the Ladies are hoping that the positivity can rub off on them.

Scott said: "The town is buzzing and that can only be good for the ladies team because the profile of Rotherham is raised.

"Rotherham United Ladies needs to grow and we are having a reserve team next season. We still need more investment, so there's plenty of work to do before the action starts again, but I am delighted to come to a club with such great potential."

Scott, an ex-pro who who spent seven years as first team coach at the Belles, praised team manager Simon Walker in doing such a great job in selling the club to him.

"I am here to help Simon make this club a success both on and off the pitch," he added.
