READER PICTURE: heap of pit spoil just keeps on growing
SPOIL from Maltby Colliery looms over neighbouring homes in this picture sent in by one of our readers.
“Maltby Colliery has applied to the install a tempory conveyor to take colliery spoil from the pit head to the disposal area, this would be on a tempory basis up to ten years,” writes the reader, who prefers to remain anonymous.
“Five years ago you could just see a few tree behind the houses. Just imagine what a conveyor can do in ten years!”
