Pair remanded on murder charge

A MAN and woman from Wombwell accused of killing a Rawmarsh man have been remanded in custody awaiting trial next year.

Garry Count (32) and Kerry Musgrave (31), both of Bartholomew Street, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court charged with the murder of Shane Beadling (41) of Potterdyke Avenue.

Judge Simon Lawler QC denied bail to both defendants, who are also charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

They will appear again on October 16 for a pre-trial hearing, returning on January 14 next year for trial.

Mr Beadling’s family released a statement through police.

In it a spokesman said: “Shane was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, and he had many friends in the area where he lived.

“Shane had his problems and tended to move around a lot, but he always kept in touch with his family and we will miss him terribly.

“His death has left his family heartbroken and devastated. They would like their privacy to be respected during this sad time.”
