Girl left “shaken and scared” by railway station attack

POLICE want to speak to this man in connection with an assault on a teenage girl waiting for a train.

She was at Mexborough station when a man approached, made a sexual comment and kicked her in the groin.

British Transport Police have encouraged anyone who recognises the man in the photo to come forward and help with enquiries.

PC Sandra Murray said: “The young girl was waiting for her train to Meadowhall. A man entered the shelter and briefly spoke to her.

“Once both were standing on the platform, he made a sexual comment towards her and kicked her in the groin, before walking off.

“The man then went across the bridge to the Doncaster-bound platform and entered the main waiting room.

“He went back to the Sheffield-bound platform and boarded a train to Sheffield.

“We believe the man in the image could have vital information about this completely unprovoked attack which left a young girl shaken and scared and would urge him to come forward.”
