PLANNING APPLICATIONS: Nando’s Chickenland Ltd has submitted an application for the installation of an extraction plant, alterations to the balustrade and door, for external furniture and planters and for the display of two illuminated fascia signs at the former Pizza Hut site on Stadium Way in Parkgate.

 

RAWMARSH AND DISTRICT CHORAL SOCIETY: The society will be holding its next production, A Victorian Pot Pourri of Gilbert and Sullivan and More, on October 17 at the Methodist Church, High Street Centre. The evening begins 7.15pm, tickets £8.

RAWMARSH TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD: Two visitors attended the recent meeting at the High Street Centre. Speaker Simon Thompson spoke about Hadrian’s Wall. Members recently held a coffee morning and raised £400 for the Northern General Helipad Appeal. At the next meeting a representative will be visiting to collect the cheque on behalf of the appeal. The next meeting will also be the celebration of the birthday of the guild and members will entertain and then have lunch. The walking group met recently at Thrybergh Country Park and the reading group met at Swinton Library. Arrangements for Christmas lunch were made during the meeting. The group meets on the second Thursday in the month at the High Street Centre 10am.
