Two escape from Laughton house fire

TWO women escaped without serious injury after bioethanol fuel caught fire in a first floor living room.

Firefighters from Aston and Rotherham stations were called to the home in Laughton at 11.40pm on Friday.

Both women, thought to be in their 40s, were outside when the crews arrived. One suffered slight burns.

A fire service spokeswoman confirmed the blaze was accidental.

Meanwhile, a Nissan Micra was deliberately set alight on Upper Wortley Road, Kimberworth, at about 4am on Saturday.

Firefighters attended when fencing at a Vesey Street, Rawmarsh, was accidentally set alight at 9.30pm on Saturday.

The cause of a small woodland blaze on Park Spring Road, Little Houghton, at 1pm on Sunday is not yet known.

And firefighters also attended Jardine Street, Wombwell, where a Toyota Hiace van on fire at 1am on Monday. It was recorded as accidental.
