Robber leaves Brinsworth store empty handed

A MAN who claimed he was in possession of a hand gun left a convenience store empty handed following an attempted robbery.

Police are now hunting for the suspect who fled the shop on Whitehill Road, Brinsworth, at around 8.10pm on Wednesday (16).

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers believe that an unknown man entered a shop on Whitehall Road, Brinsworth where he is alleged to have made threats, intimating he was in possession of a hand gun.

“It is believed that the man left the shop empty-handed and no one was injured during the incident.

“Officers attended the scene and conducted searches in the area.

“Further enquiries are ongoing.”
