Bus driver wrong to turn girl away

LAST Thursday my 12-year-old grandaughter left Thrybergh Comp to meet her mother in Rotherham bus station as she had a doctor’s appointment. She was in school uniform.

When she got on the bus the driver asked for her bus pass but she didn’t have it on her. She wanted to pay the 70p fare but he refused to let her on the bus. She told him she was going to meet her mum for a doctor’s appointment but he said tough and made her get off the bus.

She phoned her mother very upset and she had to phone a taxi to take her into town.

I think with what has been going off in Rotherham this was very underhand of him.

I have emailed the bus company with my concern but have not had any reply.

He could see she was just a school child.
