Trio join Manor backroom team

MANOR F1 have laid down a marker for a long term Grand Prix future by appointing three senior officials to their backroom staff.

In a move which signals the Dinnington team’s intentions, former Mercedes technical director Bob Bell has been taken on board along with former Toro Rosso chief designer Luca Furbatto, who joins as head of design, and Gianluca Pisanello, formerly of the now-defunct Caterham team, who becomes chief engineer.

Team boss John Booth says it’s a massive step in the right direction for the team, which was rescued from the embers of last year’s cash barren set-up.

“We’re delighted to welcome Bob, Luca, and Gianluca to the team,” said Booth.

“It’s been a dramatic but rewarding start to our 2015 season and we’re only now able to settle into more of a rhythm, allowing us to look to the future."
